Louisville, KY (September 23, 2020) – An accident reported on Tuesday morning in the Louisville area claimed the life of a young woman. Just after 1 a.m., on September 22, officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the scene of a collision on the Shawnee Expressway (Waterson Expressway/Interstate 265).
According to reports, a 22-year-old local woman was driving in the far right lane of the interstate when she was involved in a serious crash with another car. The impact of the crash caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a sound barrier wall.
The driver was critically injured in the collision. She was rushed to the University Of Louisville Hospital where she passed away as a result of her injuries. At this time, we do not know the condition of the other driver.
At this time, the LMPD is investigating to determine the sequences of events leading up to the crash.
