Louisville, KY (January 15, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident in the Highlands left one person injured.
On January 12, police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident on Bardstown Road.
Reports from police found that the driver was traveling on Bardstown Road during the morning hours on Sunday when he struck a pedestrian outside of a bar.
The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid. Police were able to use broken bumper pieces and other evidence found at the scene to identify him as the driver of the vehicle. Upon apprehending him, the police issued a sobriety test and found that he was impaired and under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash.
The victim was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with drunk driving, assault, and various other charges from this accident.
