Louisville, KY (May 13, 2021) – One woman has lost her life as a result of a major crash in Franklin County. On May 11, the Kentucky State Police Department was requested at the scene of a traffic-related incident on Interstate 64.
Reports from KSP show that a 22-year-old Jefferson County woman was driving a red 2005 Dodge Magnum on the eastbound side of Interstate 64 when she was involved in a collision at approximately 2 p.m. The Dodge then struck a second vehicle near mile marker 55.
The impact of the crash sent the woman’s vehicle into a guardrail, causing her to be ejected. The young woman sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, it is unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the accident.
At this time, investigations surrounding the cause of the accident are underway with the Kentucky State Police.
