Shepherdsville, KY (September 29, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported early Tuesday morning following a multi-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Interstate 65 has claimed one person’s life while leaving two others injured.
Just before 6 a.m., on September 28, emergency crews were called to provide assistance at the scene of a crash on Interstate 65. Reports from the Shepherdsville Police Department show that a semi-truck and six other vehicles collided on Interstate 65 in Bullitt County near mile marker 116.
The incident prompted the closure of the interstate near the Shepherdsville/Mt Washington Exit. The Jefferson County Fire assisted the police at the scene.
One person involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two others were transported to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries.
The roadway remained closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene. At this time, investigations surrounding the cause of the crash are underway.
