Pedestrian Accidents in Louisville
Between the high cost of gas and how overcrowded some of Kentucky’s highways and streets have become, it’s no surprise that a lot more people are walking whenever possible. In spite of the apparent health benefits, there are also risks that are inherent in walking along busy streets, packed with cars. The most obvious of these dangers is the fact that should a pedestrian be involved in a car accident, the pedestrian is going to bear the brunt of the injuries.
In recent years, approximately 150,000 pedestrians throughout the country required emergency room visits for car accident-related injuries. An additional 4,735 pedestrians died in fatal traffic accidents, with 55 of those deaths occurring in Kentucky. No matter how cautious you are as a pedestrian, the threat of being injured in a car accident is always there.
