Louisville, KY (September 22, 2021) – The Jefferson County Coroner’s office has identified the man who lost his life in the bicycle accident near Fairdale on Sunday as a 42-year-old from Louisville.
At around 5:30 p.m., on September 19, calls came in for assistance at the scene of an accident on the National Turnpike. Reports from the Louisville Metro Police Department show that the bicyclist was riding in the area of National Turnpike and Tolls Lane.
At the same time, a vehicle was traveling through the intersection. The vehicle collided with the bike, resulting in the rider being ejected.
The bicyclist sustained catastrophic injuries in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene due to blunt force injuries.
No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
