Louisville, KY (November 18, 2020) – An accident early Monday morning resulted in a very young child being injured in the Louisville area. On November 16, the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the scene of an automobile accident on East Chestnut Street.
Reports from the LMPD show that at approximately 2:30 a.m., a New Chapel EMS ambulance was traveling on East Chestnut Street near the University of Louisville Hospital. The driver of the ambulance failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle, causing the ambulance to collide with a sedan.
A toddler and their mother were in the back of the ambulance at the time of the crash. The toddler sustained injuries in the accident and was rushed to Norton Children’s Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the ambulance, the EMT, and the driver of the second vehicle were all treated at the scene of the accident for minor injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation with the police in Louisville.
