Fatal Pedestrian Accidents In Kentucky
Every year, more than 80 pedestrians lose their lives in collisions throughout the state of Kentucky. Roughly 18% of these victims are involved in pedestrian accidents here in Louisville. Motor vehicle accidents continue to have an overwhelming impact on families throughout our state. Although we are constantly enacting laws to protect motorists traveling throughout the state, we continue to see victims injured and killed in traffic-related incidents at an increasing rate. These incidents continue to increase in frequency and severity, leaving families throughout Jefferson County to deal with the overwhelming consequences.
Statistics show that more than 80% of all traffic collisions are a result of driver negligence. When drivers speed, drive impaired, or engage in reckless behaviors while operating their vehicles, they place others sharing the road at risk. Pedestrians are particularly vulnerable to the impact of collisions due to the fact that they have minimal protection during accidents. As a result, these victims are more likely to lose their lives in accidents involving speeding vehicles, SUVs, and commercial vehicles. When people lose their lives due to these unfortunate circumstances, their families may have legal options available. Surviving relatives should reach out to a wrongful death attorney in Kentucky as soon as possible.
