When car accidents happen in Kentucky, the investigating police officer fills out an accident report, called the Kentucky Uniform Police Traffic Collision Report. The crash report will become a critical piece of evidence in your claim for damages. The insurance company will use the report to evaluate claims and assign fault for the accident. In addition, if the investigating police officer is later called to testify in a deposition or at trial – which may be many months or years after the accident itself – then they will most likely read their testimony from the report.
